Belleville-Washers

Curved Belleville Washers

Belleville washers are sometimes referred to as curved washers. They are commonly used in stacks or singly in order to achieve a particular load and travel. The curved washers produced by Stanley Spring generate high force within a very short spring length when compressed. This type of washer is good for applications where a large deflection is required, with a minimum change in load.

Curved Washers Manufacturer

Curved washers are excellent for applications with repeated cycles through a range of motion along with a lighter thrust load. The curved washer is often superior to a helical spring for maintaining tension on a cam action or similar application where very little height is available.

Curved Spring Washers

Curved spring washers should be chosen for large deflections and relatively light loads. They are commonly used to absorb axial end play.   They are able to provide a bearing surface for mating fasteners and are available in a range of materials, including stainless steel, the most popular. Stainless steel curved washers provide the strength needed for typical applications. In addition, stainless steel offers natural corrosion resistance without the need for a finish or coating.

As with all of our products, Stanley Spring produces curved washers under the strictest quality control standards. All Stanley Spring disc springs are preset to prevent loosening over time while under load. Dimensions for a curved washer include tube or pipe diameter, screw size, and inside/outside diameter.

What are washers used for?

Washers are used to spread the pressure when tightened or between two joining surfaces as a spacer or seal.

Stacking Curved Washers

By stacking curved washers in various configurations, additional load flexibility will be realized.

Stanley will produce the washers according to the detailed needs of each customer. This may include:

  • Single, with one washer
  • Parallel, stacked the same way
  • Series, stacked opposite each other
  • Series-Parallel, a combination of both

Customers in the automotive, building/construction, and defense industries use Stanley Spring for curved washer manufacturing.

If your company is in need of Belleville, or curved washers, also sometimes called coned-disc springs, conical spring washers, disc springs, or cupped spring washers, please contact Stanley Spring today. We work to ensure that the quality products we produce meet the specifications and standards of our customers. Our commitment is to each customer, and our objective is to keep those customers coming back for quality curved washers and all other types of springs.
