Project description:
The project highlighted here was manufactured for a customer in the automotive industry. They required an anti-kink spring and supplied us with complete 2D CAD drawings which we used to match their specifications. The drawings called out the use of a 302 stainless steel wire that met BS 2056:1983 specifications for stainless steel wire. The raw wire had an outside diameter of .55mm (±.01), and was formed on one of our spring coilers. This advanced system allowed us to meet the required angular tolerances of ±10°, and dimensional tolerances of ±.1mm.
At Stanly Spring we specialize in precision spring forming, and manufacture this product for this customer in Mexico with 2 to 4 week lead times.
For more information on this project, or the processes used to manufacture it, see the table below or contact Stanley Spring directly.
